SIGHT WORDS...
Sight Words were a struggle so to keep from becoming frustrated we became creative. We made a "parking lot" using the first ten sight words. In order to keep from being towed you have to park in the correct spot. With each new set of words we make a new parking lot and connect it to the previous one so that older words are continuously reviewed. To keep up with our progress we have a "know" and "haven't learned yet" display made from post-its on our wall. This provides a visual of where we are and where we want to be.
HANDWRITING...
To improve letter and number formation we used sand in a paper plate. It worked WONDERFULLY!
